The Soul of Communications
How do you see communication and critical thinking impacting your future role as a leader in the workplace.
Communications is the key to success for any organisations. It plays an important role for everyone as it can eliminate unnecessary problems and promote better performance in the workplace. According to Pearson’s TalentLens, research shows that “US$75 million is at risk for every US$1 billion spent on a project due to ineffective communications”. Communication is a two-way process where it involves both sending and receiving information. Hence, we need to be clear and keep the information simple for everyone to understand.
On the other hand, critical thinking does have a part to play in communications. We need to provide context in every conversation. This allows the audience to follow your train of thought and respond. As a result, as part of critical thinking, it is crucial to offer clarity and precision.
In
conclusion, critical thinking enables leaders to think logically, allowing them
to be more reliable and sensible by setting a good example for others to look
up to.
